Driving hard tech for good: a world where scientists become leaders of world-changing ventures.
Activate is building the most comprehensive programming for science entrepreneurs, supporting them throughout the founder journey. Beyond the US Fellowship (with communities in Berkeley, Boston, New York, and Houston), they run programs in Singapore, Japan, and Louisiana, plus Tools for Innovators offerings.
To give science entrepreneurs the mindsets, skills, networks, and support needed to turn breakthrough hard tech into real-world impact.
Activate created the first fellowship designed specifically for entrepreneurial scientists. Fellows join for two years and receive a living stipend, access to Activate's mentor network, and a dedicated curriculum. They target early-stage founders who have raised less than $2M and are working on high-impact technology. Activate has supported 353 fellows, who have raised $6.5B in follow-on funding and created 3,000 jobs. The inaugural Houston cohort had 11 fellows across energy, materials, life sciences, space, and other sectors.
