Energytech Cypher is building a global community that connects startups, investors, and corporate leaders to accelerate the energy transition through collaboration, funding, and real-world partnerships. Their programs include the COPILOT Accelerator, the Pilotathon and Company Showcase (where founders pitch pilots to industry partners), Scaleup to Houston for international startups, the Liftoff fundraising program, an Investor Program, the Determined to Lead Women Series, and Cephyron, their investor-relations platform covering 25,000+ investors.

Who They Are

Energytech Cypher is a Houston energytech hub founded in 2023 by Jason Ethier, Juliana Garaizar, and Nada Ahmed. It began as Energytech Nexus, grew from a podcast into a 130-member ecosystem, and rebranded to Energytech Cypher. The name comes from the Arabic root of "cypher," ṣifr (zero): in Nada Ahmed's words, "a cypher is a key that unlocks what's hidden." Its values are fostering authentic connections, bridging to critical resources, and championing leadership journeys. Startups they have supported include Syzygy Plasmonics, Hertha Metals, Solidec, Resollant, and Capwell Services.
