A University of Houston community where students, faculty, and recent alumni turn ideas into real, revenue-generating businesses.
RED Labs runs a 12-week summer accelerator out of the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship at UH's Bauer College of Business. It pairs startup- and small-business-focused curriculum with one-on-one mentorship from local business owners, legal office hours for IP and incorporation, and accountability meetings, ending in a demo day. Cohorts are capped at about 10 teams per summer.
To help UH students, faculty, and recent alumni accelerate their business or business idea.
RED Labs is the University of Houston's startup accelerator. The program is free, and eligible teams receive a $5,000 stipend per business. They look for solo founders and small teams (typically 2 to 5 people, with at least one UH-affiliated member) who have already validated customer discovery, can build independently, show market validation or early revenue, and are committed to launching. Participants spend 6 to 7 scheduled hours a week in curriculum and mentorship, plus significant independent work on product and customers.
