This is a standardized scoring rubric that funders use to evaluate nonprofit organizations consistently and defensibly.

What it does

It turns subjective "does this organization deserve support?" judgment calls into a structured, repeatable 100-point evaluation across six dimensions:

Why it's useful

• Consistency — Every organization gets evaluated the same way, so a young grassroots group and an established legacy nonprofit are compared on the same rubric, not gut feel.
• Forces rigor — The sub-dimension notes prompt evaluators to actually verify specifics (revenue diversification, board composition, beneficiary follow-through) rather than rely on impressions.
• Community-centered — Unlike frameworks built around growth or scale, this one explicitly centers community trust and beneficiary voice as the core measure of legitimacy, not just financial or operational metrics.
• Audit trail — The signal flags and recommendation section create a written record of why a funding decision was made, useful for board reporting and re-evaluation cycles.
